Job Description

Faststream is working with a leading UK-based Ferry, Freight Logistics company to recruit an Energy Efficiency, Environmental Compliance & Performance Manager. This is a hybrid role with a base required in Kent and requiring regular travel across the UK’s port network and onboard. 

The Role
You will be responsible for driving energy efficiency, ensuring environmental compliance, and optimising vessel performance across the fleet. This includes analysing operational data, implementing fuel-saving initiatives, and ensuring all environmental legislation requirements are met on time and in the correct format.
Working closely with ship managers, technical teams, classification societies, and legislative authorities, you will play a key role in the company’s sustainability strategy and journey towards net zero. You will also lead and develop the some of the Fleet Team, ensuring robust succession planning.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and improve vessel performance, fuel efficiency, and service power optimisation.
- Ensure accurate and timely environmental reporting (CII, EEXI, EU ETS, UK ETS, Fuel EU).
- Identify and deliver operational improvements through data analysis.
- Work with technical teams to resolve performance issues.
- Lead crew training on efficiency best practices.
- Contribute to the fleet’s CAPEX process and sustainability initiatives.
- Stay ahead of maritime regulations and industry best practice.
  
About You

- Sea experience, combined with shore-based fleet management expertise OR legislation/policy management experience
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and compliance processes - this is essential to success in this role
- Skilled in data analysis and performance optimisation strategies
- Confident leader with excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Able to travel frequently to UK ports and have British permanent residency or citizenship.
