Join a leading global trading company and take charge of COA-driven voyages across key trade routes. In this role, you will coordinate with shipowners, brokers, and customers to ensure smooth voyage execution, manage key documentation and compliance, and monitor commercial performance to drive continuous improvement. Based in the Tokyo headquarters, you will work at the heart of a globally connected team powering essential trade flows. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage end-to-end voyage coordination under COA agreements, ensuring timely execution and clear communication with shipowners, brokers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Handle critical shipping documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal control processes.
  • Oversee laytime and demurrage processes by working closely with outsourced partners – validate outcomes and drive smooth settlements.
  • Track voyage performance, cost metrics, and claims, and contribute to commercial reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure all chartering operations meet international trade regulations, credit policies, and safety standards.
  • Support pre-fixture activities over time, including COA term discussions and recap documentation.  
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in dry bulk operations or chartering.
  • Strong working knowledge of charter party terms, voyage execution, and shipping documentation.
  • Confident communicator in business-level English, both spoken and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) with strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with laytime/demurrage processes and vendor coordination.
  • Experience with systems like IMOS/Veson is a plus.
  • Japanese language ability is beneficial but not required.
