Faststream has entered into a partnership with the A&P Group, a globally recognised ship repair & conversion specialist, to assist them in attracting the very best talent for their yards in the North East of the UK, Tyne & Tees.
For the Tyne yard, we are in search of a CAD Draughtsman who will be responsible for the CAD interpretation/development/lofting/nesting of steel plate parts mainly for shipbuilding and ship repair projects. They will ensure all provided steel parts are sourced/cut/supplied devoid of defects, while ensuring compliance to the company and clients project related standards. Other related responsibilities include material estimating, material listing, CAD design of parts and occasionally structures. CAD sketching and drawings produced for project related tasks, including Ship docking/Yard layouts/related CAD drawings as required.
We are looking for a Draughtsman who holds a HNC/Degree in a marine related field and who is highly competent with AutoCAD 2D. Experience within a shipbuilding/repair environment is essential, with familiarity of ship structures and the nesting process. Highly desirable attributes include; understanding of CNC burning and interpretation of engineering drawings and plans.
