Are you looking to take the next step in your maritime career and join an international marine insurance broker? This is an exceptional opportunity for someone with 1-3 years' experience in the maritime or marine insurance sector to build a long term career in a supportive and team focused environment.
As a Marine Insurance Broker, no two days will be the same. You'll be working closely with a variety of clients across international shipping markets, supporting them on matters such as policy adjustments, insurance packages and urgent requirements such as transits through high-risk areas. Your responsibilities will include:
- Day to day client support and advisory, with regular direct contact
- Helping develop bespoke insurance solutions, primarily in H&M and P&I
- Reviewing and analysing policy data using Excel and internal systems
- Preparing market comparisons, statistics and presentation materials
- Assisting with claims-related queries as needed
- Collaborating with colleagues across global offices
- Occasional travel to meet clients internationally, where appropriate
We're keen to hear from candidates who are numerically minded and eager to grow their career within marine insurance. You might be:
- Currently working in marine insurance broking, underwriting or claims
- From a shipping or maritime studies background, with commercial awareness
- Comfortable dealing with numbers and documents accurately
- A team player who's curious, reliable, and happy to learn from others
- Fluent in English (C1 level); German language skills are a plus but not essential
- Eligible to work in the EU (EU passport or valid work permit required)
This is a rare chance to be part of a stable and growing firm with a genuinely collaborative culture. People stay here for the long term, anniversaries of 5, 10, and even 40 years are proudly celebrated.
Here's what you can expect:
- Strong onboarding and mentoring from day one
- Internal and external training on marine insurance topics
- Secondments and training weeks with clients or underwriters, where relevant
- Modern office in the heart of Hamburg with great public transport links
- Monthly team lunches, summer and Christmas parties, and a supportive community
- International office culture (20+ nationalities) with a real focus on work-life balance
- Flexible working hours and hybrid working (2 days WFH post-probation)
Please send your CV and if you can, any supporting documents such as qualifications. We will then call you to discuss the role if we feel you would be a good fit and we will never apply without your consent first.
