Reporting to the Director of Marine Operations, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of vessel operations in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Qualifications:
- Education: Maritime Degree or equivalent
- Experience: Previous experience in a licensed Deck Officer position
- Languages: English
- Skills/Software: Proficient with Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Traits: Proactive, flexible, and well-organized with excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Licenses/Certifications: Chief Mate
- Skills/Software: Familiarity with NS-Enterprise
- Ensure vessels' compliance with regulatory initiatives
- Collaborate on planning modifications or legislative upgrades
- Participate in incident investigations
- Play a key role in recruitment, selection, and promotion of ship staff
- Conduct training orientation for Masters/Chief Mate on processes and systems
- Monitor voyage performance and ensure compliance with requirements
- Address general commercial issues, including customer support
- Desire to drive continuous improvement
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Effective customer response skills
- Teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Knowledge of marine operations
