Key Responsibilities:
- Working under the guidance of the Chief Engineer, following set goals and instructions.
- Keeping all maintenance records accurate and up to date in the vessel’s planned maintenance system.
- Overseeing the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the Engine Room and supervises junior engineers and crew, including their training.
- Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of all Engine Room machinery and equipment.
- Maintaining main propulsion systems and related equipment, including fuel and lubrication systems, pumps, purifiers, steering gear, control and hydraulic systems, CPP systems, oily water separators, and incinerators. Also manages testing and records for cooling water chemicals and regular lube oil sampling.
- Ensuring bunker fuel is properly purified to maintain a reliable fuel supply for all machinery.
- Managing machinery bilge pumping in compliance with environmental regulations and vessel procedures.
- Tracings Engine Room stores and spare parts used, received, and in stock.
- Reviewing and verifying work recorded in the Planned Maintenance Program to ensure all maintenance is properly documented.
- Carrying out security duties in line with the Vessel Security Plan.
- An experienced 2nd Engineer operating on Oil/Chemical Tankers
- In possession of a 2nd Engineer or Chief Engineer Unlimited CoC
- In possession of a Canadian work permit, Canadian citizen, or permanent resident
- Immediate availability to join a Tanker
- 4/4 weeks on/off with either OBO or x 12 month pay
- CAD142,000 per annum
