Job Description

I am currently working with an established Yacht Management Company in the North East of England, who have an opportunity for a Yacht Manager to join their growing team. 

The main objective of the Yacht Manager position is to provide support and an efficient and proactive management service to the Owners, Owners Representatives and Captains for their assigned vessels.

Key responsibilities of the role are varied and duties will include but not be limited to:
  • Preparation of annual budgets
  • Liaising with other teams, Captains and Engineers
  • Dealing with any crew issues/safety issues
  • Organising annual dry dockings
  • Monitoring yacht certifications
  • Ensuring vessels adhere to class and flag requirements
  • Yacht visits and inspections
  • Ensuring that all work in completed on time
  
The ideal candidate will have:
  
  • 10 years’ experience in the Maritime industry shore-based AND on-board – Yachting experience is preferred but Commercial shipping candidates will be seriously considered.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant Flag State and Class Societies
  • Strong knowledge of ISM/ISPS and Audit/Survey experience
  • Project Management experience in the Superyacht sector, refits, new builds, dry docks
  • DPA/CSO qualification highly desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Good commercial knowledge and negotiating ability
  • Excellent decision-making ability
  • Leadership transferrable skills – the ability to oversee, guide and advise a small team
  • Willingness and ability to look after Owners interests
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously
  • Well presented
  • Fluent English language skills (written and spoken) and Computer Literacy
  • Strong attention to detail, report writing
  • Willing and able to travel frequently
  
The location of this role is the North East of England, and when you are not travelling you are required to work in the office. All applicants must possess the existing right to live and work in the UK. No sponsorship will be offered as part of this position.

Salary dependant on experience.
