Our premier recruitment agency is excited to partner with an expanding yacht management company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They provide custom-tailored support services to meet the needs of yacht owners, captains, and industry professionals, and are seeking a Yacht Technical Manager to join their team in Palm Beach.

As the Yacht Technical Manager, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe and successful operation of our client's fleet vessels. You'll provide technical and emergency support, advise clients and captains on current and upcoming regulations and safety requirements, and develop internal systems to enhance productivity.

We're looking for a team player with the ability to work independently as directed. The successful candidate will be expected to cross-train in all aspects of the department and ensure resources are in place for safe operation. Excellent communication skills are a must, as you'll be expected to communicate with the Owner, Owner's Representative, and crew concerning the technical oversight of the yacht.

This is an office-based role, and you must have the right to live and work in the USA, ONLY applicants that possess either a valid Green Card or a US Passport will progress through the selection process. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  
1)   Assist and/or facilitate handovers between Captains.
  
2)   Ensure Flag and Class requirements are met, upheld, and tracked internally.
  
3)   Co-ordinate Survey and maintenance periods with Captains and/or Owners.
  
4)   Co-ordinate and establish annual operations budgets with Yacht Account Manager & Owner.
  
5)   Work closely with the Yacht Account Manager(s) regarding account and budget issues.
  
6)   Ensure yard agreements and insurance policies are in place.
  
7)   Establish relationships with various Shipyards to determine quality of work and conditions.
  
8)   Visit vessels regularly to ascertain systems are in place and to check general condition.
  
9)   Work closely with DP for ISM/ISPS/MLC implementation and maintenance aboard fleet yachts as often as necessary.
  
10) Serve as the primary point of contact for Owner, captain, and crew where appropriate.

11) Implement and maintain applicable regulatory requirements across various industry administrations.
  
12) Member of the Emergency Team - assigned as Deputy DP as required.
  
  
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  
1)  Attend conferences, boat shows, other industry gatherings when necessary to maintain up to date information on the yachting industry.
  
2)  Maintain currency with applicable industry regulations, codes, rules, and advisories.
  
3)  Promote FYS, always be well presented, friendly and polite.
  
4)  Travel to yachts at different locations, travel to and work from satellite offices as necessary

  
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  
1)   Extensive knowledge of onboard yacht operations combined with at least 5 years working at sea.
  
2)   Working knowledge of different flag state laws and regulations with a willingness to learn
  
3)   Knowledge of industry, it’s high standards and lifestyle preferrable
  
4)   Ability to multi-task, stay organized and focused.
  
5)   Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Adobe, and Microsoft Outlook. Duties require professional verbal and written communication skills.
  
6)   Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently and professionally with colleagues, clients, captains, and crew.
  
7)   Motivated and focused on career progression in the yachting industry, maintain strong problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude.
  
8)   Strong mediation skills.
