We are currently assisting a global shipping client to hire suitably experienced Technical Superintendents to take on the role of Project Manager. This is a permanent position responsible for planning and overseeing engineering, dry docking and ship building projects.

To be considered, you should have sailed as a Chief Engineer on seagoing vessels (i.e bulk carriers, tanker vessels and/or gas carriers), and have at least 3 years of shore experience as a Technical Superintendent, ideally familiar with planning and overseeing dry docking, retrofitting projects and/or involved in drawing approval and new build supervision. Naval Architects with the relevant project management experience can be considered.

You will be liaising with ship yards and relevant service providers to negotiate contracts. Developing and implementing SOPs for docking and ship building supervision projects. Planning and execution of projects. Conduct site visits to appraise performance for continual improvement. Identify competency gaps among crew and training suggestions. Carry out suitable training when required.
