Faststream Recruitment is currently working with a leading physical bunker supplier with a global presence, seeking a skilled Bunker Trader.
  
Our client is expanding their office in Geneva, Switzerland, and is seeking a skilled Physical Bunker Trader to join their team. This is your chance to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, working with top professionals in the industry.

As a Physical Bunker Trader, you will play a vital role in the purchase and sale of marine fuel and associated products. Your primary focus will be on fostering profitable and enduring relationships with a diverse portfolio of counterparties. You will also maintain a keen awareness of credit risk and payment performance to ensure the company's financial stability.

Key Duties:
  • Engage in proactive marketing to both new and existing customers, building strong relationships to generate increased enquiries and successfully sell the company's products and services.

  • Collaborate effectively with fellow traders, facilitating the efficient flow of market and customer intelligence across the organization. Support international colleagues by actively and diligently managing inbound enquiries from regional offices within the company's global network.

  • Stay informed about market conditions, analyzing and interpreting them to identify counterparty needs. Provide valuable product and price information, negotiate deals, process orders, handle administrative tasks, and address general customer queries related to the sales process.

  • Take a proactive approach to credit risk management, ensuring prompt follow-up on late payments, minimizing claim costs, and regularly assessing the financial strength of counterparties in collaboration with the Credit Team.

  • Expand the company's business portfolio by leveraging the extensive global network of the organization. Identify and maximize all sales opportunities that arise.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualities:
  • Previous trading experience, ideally within the bunker sector or the maritime industry.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, enabling effective relationship-building and sales activities.
  • Rights to live and work in Switzerland.
