We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Marine Superintendent specialising in Heavy Lift operations to join a dynamic team. As a Marine Superintendent, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of Heavy Lift vessels. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation of Heavy Lift vessels, ensuring compliance with international regulations, industry best practices, and company policies.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to vessel crews in matters relating to Heavy Lift operations, navigation, safety, and emergency response.
  • Conduct regular vessel inspections and audits to identify and rectify any operational or safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with the fleet management team to plan and execute vessel maintenance and repair activities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal vessel performance.
  • Monitor vessel performance, including fuel consumption, voyage analysis, and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safe working practices, policies, and procedures for Heavy Lift operations.
  • Conduct incident investigations and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence and enhance safety.
  • Extensive travel of more than 120 days per annum 
Minimum Requirements:
  • Minimum 24 months of sea service in the rank of Master Mariner on Heavy Lift vessels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive knowledge of Heavy Lift vessel operations, safety procedures, and international regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing vessel operations, including maintenance, navigation, and emergency response.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices, industry standards, and class society rules for Heavy Lift vessels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong leadership abilities and the capacity to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software applications and tools for vessel management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary education or advanced certifications in maritime studies or related field.
  • Experience in a shore-based marine superintendent role or similar position.
  • Familiarity with safety management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and incident investigation processes.
