Our client is a rapidly growing maritime shipping and logistics company with a global footprint. They are at a key stage of growth as they continue to expand operations worldwide and seeking an experienced and strategic Global Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function and a small team, to contribute to the overall success of their organization.

Location: Stamford, Connecticut - with the ability and willingness to travel often, internationally to remote locations in South America, Africa and Asia. 

Responsibilities:

Policy Support and Implementation:
Assist in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures across various offices. Support regional HR teams in aligning processes and promoting a consistent organizational culture.

Talent Acquisition Assistance:
Support global recruitment efforts by assisting in candidate sourcing, screening, and onboarding processes. Participate in talent management activities such as succession planning and performance reviews.

Operational Support:
Assist in addressing HR challenges specific to different regions, collaborating with senior staff. Stay informed about HR trends to contribute to the improvement of HR strategies.
 
Start-up Support:  
Provide support in establishing HR functions in new startup locations. Assist in coordinating onboarding processes for new hires in new locations.

Employee Relations Support:
Support managers efforts to foster positive employee relations globally. Assist in addressing employee concerns and grievances while promoting employee satisfaction.

Collaborative Planning:
Participate in strategic HR planning sessions with the leadership team. Support cross-functional communication and teamwork initiatives by collaborating with other departments.

Experience:
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or HRBP for a maritime/shipping, oil and gas, or mining or heavy engineering company.
  • Knowledge and understanding of international HR regulations, labor laws and cultural nuances.
  • Track record of successfully standardizing HR processes across diverse global locations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in recruitment, talent management, and HR strategy development.
  • Experience in setting up HR functions in new startup locations globally.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different cultures and time zones.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align HR initiatives with organizational goals.
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant HR certifications are a plus.
