Position: General Manager - Cruise Terminals Barcelona
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Language: Fluency in Spanish is essential
Type: Full-time Permanent
Compensation: Competitive gross salary + benefits + company car.

General Manager

  • Manage and be responsible for administrative, logistical, human resources, security, and accounting services to support company operations.
  • Oversee daily operations of the business unit or organization.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage all business operations to achieve corporate goals.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as required.
  • Oversee the bid and negotiation process for the appointment of contracts with local vendors.
  • Supervise and have overall responsibility for financial control and business administration (commercial, legal, financial, tax, labor).
  • Develop and implement the business plan for profitability.
  • Prepare budget and manage expense activities.
  • Set the terminal tariffs for the various services in accordance with Company’s senior management.
  • Generate business, cost, and employee reports to management.
  • Identify business opportunities with new and existing customers.
  • Engage with corporate officers in broader organizational strategic planning. Maintain relations with Carnival Corporation Port Operations management.
  • Manage the marketing activities and represent the company at international events or conferences.
  • Ensure that employees follow company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate efforts by establishing procurement, production, marketing, field, and technical services policies, and practices; coordinating actions with corporate staff.
  • Build company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees, enforcing ethical business practices.
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Provide support to the terminal team in Tenerife.
 As “PFSO”
  • Ensure accomplishment of ISPS code.
  • Be the representative of the company in terms of security, with the local authorities, with the ships and with the cruise lines.
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with the private security company.
  • Make reports of incidents for top management.
  • Establish and maintain good communication with all the security teams involved (Guardia Civil, Policía Nacional, Port Police etc.);
  • Ensure security plans and files are secure & updated (PAU, PPP, LOPD, PRL…).
Public Affairs Spain
  • Monitor the news, collect, and facilitate information of the political changes and the impact to our cruise lines.
  • Keep constant communication with key stakeholders at the most interesting administrations for our industry (Harbor Master office, Health Authority, Law enforcement agencies, Port Authorities, Port Police, immigration etc).
