Our Client, a leading shipping operator is seeking a Dry Docking Superintendent to oversee vessel repairs, dry dock projects, and process improvements across its fleet. The role involves rotation between vessels and shore-based work depending on project needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and execute dry docking and layup repair projects, including budget forecasting, cost/time monitoring, and contractor selection.
  • Collaborate with Ship Manager, Marine Assurance, IT, and Procurement teams to create Repair Specifications and ensure compliance with statutory and commercial requirements.
  • Visit vessels as required to oversee project execution and final invoice settlement in line with KPIs.
  • Optimize logistics and spares scheduling to minimize downtime and reduce costs.
  • Develop and maintain dry dock processes, databases, and software tools for repair specifications, quote comparison, work progress tracking, and invoicing.
  • Conduct project reviews to identify lessons learned and improve future operations.
  • Support ERP development for docking procedures, including UAT and change requests.
  • Develop training modules for seafarers and office staff to improve repair planning, performance, and invoicing.
Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years sailing experience as 2nd Engineer 
  • Experience managing extensive layup/dry dock projects.
  • LPG experience essential; Ethylene experience is a plus.
  • Strong process-driven, technologically savvy, and able to work in digital environments.
  • Excellent planning, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel at short notice and manage a 24/7 on-call lifestyle.
  • Strong team orientation, cross-functional collaboration skills, and empathy for diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of maritime rules, regulations, and vessel management best practices.
Work Arrangement:
  • Rotation on vessels for a minimum of 210 working days per year; otherwise, work-from-home with 3 months leave.
