My client provides independent, high quality project management, technical and QA services to a broad spectrum of developers and contractors. They specialise in niche Subsea products built to meet particular project challenges including adverse installation conditions and tight timescales. Their assignments range from task-specific support of established marine companies to the provision of a complete ‘turnkey’ service to clients new to the marine construction sector.
They are looking for an experienced, ideally degree level Mechanical Engineer on a temporary contract of between 1-3mos, with potential to extend to 6/9mos depending on candidate and project demand.
The main scope is checking of engineering drawings, both for completeness of construction detail / dimensions etc, and for functionality – structural checks etc. The engineer would also be required to check and/or perform calculations of other aspects such as corrosion resistance (calculation templates or examples generally available).
Ideally the candidate will be based near to their Romsey offices and will have 5+ yrs experience in fabrication/machining (ideally with Subsea equipment but not essential). They must also have the right to work in the UK already. due to time constraints sponsorship cannot be offered.
