Your duties will encompass offering thorough supervision from vessel assessment to operational assistance, guaranteeing conformity with regulations and benchmarks, and furnishing expert counsel to elevate operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure vessels adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards, in line with company policies and international regulations.
- Provide guidance on compliance with industry best practices and recommend changes in legislation.
- Lead amendments to company SMS manuals and conduct annual safety inspections and audits onboard vessels.
- Coordinate internal and external audits, including ISM/ISPS/MLC and SIRE inspections.
- Oversee vessel inspections and manage rectification reports.
- Handle incident investigation and implement corrective actions.
- Evaluate sea staff performance and conduct crew interviews as required.
- Prepare and upload relevant TMSA elements, monitor routine reports, and manage vessel deficiencies.
- Facilitate vessel takeovers and new building tasks, including safety equipment service and equipment monitoring.
- Verify quotations/invoices for deck repairs, stores, and maintenance, and control budget allocation.
- Undertake any additional duties as assigned by the Marine Manager.
- Possess COC Class 1 or 2 certification and sailing experience on oil tankers.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Marine Superintendent in ship management.
- Preferably, a foreign-going chief officer with sea experience.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of managing multiple projects with exceptional organizational skills.
- Display analytical thinking, independence, results-driven attitude, resourcefulness, and proactive approach.
