In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Harbour Master with compliance, inspecting harbour craft, port equipment and third-party equipment, as well as monitoring compliance to ensure the Ports are operating in line with legislation and guidance. You will support the Harbour Master with training and certification of the marine team and be part of the emergency response team for the pros within the region, amongst various other duties.
The ideal candidate will have:-
- Sea going experience as a Deck Officer – Minimum Officer of the Watch Certificate of Competency, or hold a relevant Marine Operations Apprenticeship qualification
- Knowledge of Port Marine Safety Code
- Some experience managing a small team would be desirable
- Harbour Master Diploma desirable but not essential
- Full clean driving license and own car
- Willingness to be part of an on-call duty rota
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
