Role Overview:

As a Technical Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to make shipping operations fully sustainable and align them with a circular economic model. You will serve as a bridge between our commercial operations and their partner's Fleet Management departments. Your adept communication skills will facilitate the understanding of intricate issues among stakeholders, driving improvements in fleet operations, cargo control, and operational efficiency.

Your responsibility will encompass transitioning from experience-driven practices to data-driven methodologies, thereby contributing to systematic advancements over time. In collaboration with internal departments, you will spearhead efforts to enhance controls, minimize environmental impact, and ensure seamless information flow to vessel crews.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as 24/7 first-line support for operational queries, technical breakdowns, and stakeholder requests.
  • Manage change of grade processes, optimize equipment performance, and coordinate cooling strategies.
  • Drive initiatives related to fuel analysis, ranging from conventional to biofuels and future/green fuels.
  • Collaborate closely with in-house departments as the subject matter expert.
  • Monitor, identify, and capitalize on optimization opportunities in emerging technical and sustainability trends.
  • Foster technical performance across the fleet with Partner Fleet Management teams.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and awareness.
  • Lead the charge in exceeding industry standards for sustainable shipping solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A degree in Engineering (or equivalent) or extensive experience as a Captain, C/E, C/O, or Gas Engineer.
  • Profound understanding of business operations and organizational dynamics.
  • Shipping domain experience, especially with tankers, is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated expertise in reporting and data analytics tools.
  • Capacity to manage diverse stakeholders with varying interests and priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, innovation mindset, and hands-on approach.
  • Exceptional English communication skills (Dutch proficiency is a plus).
  • A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
