On behalf of one of our fantastic clients, Faststream is in search of a New Build Project Engineer based in Uxbridge, UK

As a New Building Project Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing design and engineering aspects within the New Building Programme. Collaborating closely with the Project Director, you'll ensure seamless coordination across all phases of the project, from design to construction, involving multiple stakeholders including our client, third-party consultants, and shipyards. Your responsibilities will encompass supporting contract activities, facilitating information flow, and conducting on-site visits to ensure project success.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Provide design and engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage document flow between shipyards and Head Office.
  • Contribute to design prototyping and revisions using CAD drafting.
  • Offer engineering expertise in design, planning, construction, and inspection.
  • Assist the Project Director in project management tasks such as reporting and risk management.
  • Liaise with various stakeholders and prepare materials for board meetings.
  • Support Site Team Inspectors with Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), inspections, and other protocols.
  • Coordinate resolutions during delivery and warranty periods, involving stakeholders and Guarantee Engineers.
  • Document and communicate lessons learned.
  • Liaise with ship personnel during vessel visits.
Qualifications:
  • Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture and/or Marine Engineering.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in cruise operations, shipyards, or engineering companies.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/MicroStation drafting.
  • Strong project administration and support skills.
  • Excellent communication and issue summarization abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
