Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Superintendent to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations of a designated fleet of vessels, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimizing performance, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Oversight: Manage and monitor the technical operations of assigned vessels, including maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure vessels adhere to all relevant regulations, class requirements, and industry standards.
  3. Performance Optimization: Implement strategies to enhance vessel performance, fuel efficiency, and operational reliability.
  4. Budget Management: Develop and manage vessel maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or quality.
  5. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors, suppliers, and service providers to procure necessary equipment, spare parts, and services.
  6. Emergency Response: Provide technical support and guidance during emergencies, including incident investigation and resolution.
  7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records, technical documentation, and reporting systems to track vessel performance and compliance.
  8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other departments, including operations, crewing, and procurement, to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical role within the maritime industry, preferably with previous superintendent experience.
  • Thorough understanding of international maritime regulations, classification society requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vessel systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership capabilities, with experience managing teams and projects.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and technical tools.
