I am currently looking for a Support and Deployment Engineer in Singapore for one of my European clients that provides data communication services to shipping industry. This is a permanent position.
The support and deployment engineer will belong to the Global Support Team based in Singapore. Training will be provided and there is good potential for personal growth.
Responsibilities will include:
Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support of software and services to our maritime customers through phone and email from the Singapore office. Customers may be users on the vessels or their shore based IT departments
On-site installation, migration and troubleshooting at customer offices and vessels throughout South-East Asia and Middle East regions, whenever necessary
Work closely with colleagues in Singapore and Europe in a team-based environment as part of the 24/7 technical support service.
The ideal candidate will have experience in level I & II support and preferable the following technical skills:
- Networking and network troubleshooting. Network set up
- Microsoft server and operating systems
- PC and server hardware knowledge
- Switches and routers configuration
Having at least a Diploma in a relevant discipline is mandatory
Good customer service attitude and experience
Good communication skills. Written and spoken English is a must
Excellent troubleshooting. problem-solving and analytical skills
Willingness to work on a shift rotation is a must.
5-day work week with working days and hours subject to shift roster. Weekday shifts: 8-hour shifts between 7 am to 11 pm. Weekend shifts: 12-hour shift from 8am to 8pm (Weekend shift will only apply once every 2-3 months and there will be days off in lieu)
