- Class II/2 or III/2 Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner or Chief Engineer).
- Previous sailing experience as Master, Chief Officer, Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on board oil and/or gas tankers.
- Strong understanding of tanker operations, safety management and industry best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of marine and tanker operations.
- Strong understanding of international maritime regulations, industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Familiarity with OCIMF industry frameworks, including SIRE, BIRE, TMSA and MTMSA.
- Experience conducting operational and safety risk assessments.
- Ability to identify, drive and implement improvements within complex operational environments.
- Strong IT literacy and awareness of emerging maritime technologies and digital solutions.
- Conducting terminal assessments and reviewing terminal suitability for vessel operations.
- Performing ship operator and management company assessments.
- Leading and participating in meetings with vessel owners, operators and key stakeholders.
- Reviewing vessel inspection reports and evaluating corrective actions.
- Assessing vessel suitability and operational readiness for voyage and location approvals.
- Evaluating ship-to-ship (STS) service providers and associated operational arrangements.
- Leading and facilitating risk assessments for marine operations.
- Managing and coordinating Management of Change (MoC) processes.
- Monitoring compliance with company, industry and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across marine assurance and operational safety functions.
