Faststream is working with a shipping organisation across the Asia-Pacific offshore sector. We are looking for Technical Superintendents to join their Fleet Management team, based in AU, with responsibility for the running maintenance and dry-docking programme of an assigned vessel group.
What you'll be doing:
- Coordinating and executing daily running maintenance within budget across your assigned vessels
- Planning, coordinating and executing dry dockings — on quality, on budget, on time
- Monitoring the planned maintenance system and following up on outstanding items
- Undertaking vessel inspections and reporting vessel status to the Fleet Director
- Investigating root causes of defects and driving corrective/preventative action
- Arranging surveys with flag state, class and other relevant parties
- Supervising and coaching Chief Engineers on board technical management
- Managing third-party contractor and vendor performance
- Approving purchase orders and requisitions, and inspecting goods received
- 3-5 years' sea-going experience as Chief Engineer or First Engineer on vessels above 6000BHP
- Must have relevant shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent
- 4-6 years' relevant industry experience, including project management
- Solid understanding of marine industry and terminal operations
- Australian working rights are essential — this role is not open to candidates requiring sponsorship (An exception can be considered if a foreign candidate is currently working in AU).
