Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the safe, efficient, and cost-conscious operation of assigned vessels
  • Monitoring vessel condition, technical performance, and operational reliability
  • Providing technical and operational support to Masters, Chief Engineers, and onboard teams
  • Planning and coordinating repairs, maintenance, surveys, and dry dockings
  • Ensuring vessels remain fully certified and compliant with relevant international regulations
  • Supporting budget management, cost control, purchasing, and technical expenditure
  • Preparing technical updates and reports for internal stakeholders and vessel owners
  • Supporting the implementation and ongoing improvement of the company's management system
  • Promoting a strong safety, environmental, and energy-efficiency culture across the fleet
  • Working closely with senior management, commercial teams, and shipboard personnel to support vessel availability and performance

The person

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • A First Class Certificate of Competency
  • A minimum of two years' sea service as Chief Engineer
  • Experience within offshore wind vessel operations, ideally including jack-up barges and CSOV vessels
  • Strong technical knowledge of marine engineering systems and vessel operations
  • Good understanding of class, flag, statutory, and marine regulatory requirements
  • Experience with purchasing, budget monitoring, and cost control
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to vessel management
  • Good written and spoken English
  • This role would suit an experienced Technical Superintendent, Vessel Manager, Fleet Engineer, or senior engineering professional with offshore wind vessel experience who is looking to take on a visible and varied technical management position.

The opportunity

You will be joining a specialist maritime business operating within the offshore wind sector, with responsibility for technically complex vessels supporting a fast-growing area of the industry.
This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to combine technical management, operational support, commercial awareness, and close vessel interaction within a dynamic offshore environment.
