We have a new opportunity for an Offshore Technical Superintendent to join Northern Marine Group. 

Location: Glasgow, Clydebank (with occasional travel as required).
Reporting to: Fleet Manager

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Offshore Technical Superintendent to support the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of offshore vessels. This is a key shore-based role, acting as the link between vessel and office, ensuring all assets are maintained to the highest operational and safety standards.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day technical management of assigned vessels, including maintenance, compliance, budgeting, and dry dock planning, while working closely with crews, clients, and internal departments.

Required skill set and experience:

  • Previous shore-based experience within a shipping company or offshore operator is essential

  • Seagoing experience as part of a Shipboard Management Team (e.g. Second Engineer, Chief Engineer, Chief Officer)

  • Strong knowledge of offshore vessel operations (e.g. PSV, AHTS, subsea or similar)

  • Solid understanding of ISM, ISPS, and MLC regulations

  • Experience managing planned maintenance systems and technical compliance

  • Proven experience with budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting

  • Experience overseeing dry dockings, repairs, and contractor management

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively between ship and shore

Desirable:

  • Chief Engineer 

  • Degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or similar

Office attendance:
Hybrid working available following successful completion of probation, with regular office presence required in Glasgow. The business operates a 5 day per week in office presence, with the ability to utilise hybrid working, after probation period, up to twice a week, in line with business needs.
