The role
As Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for the safe, reliable and cost-effective technical management of assigned LNG carriers.
You will work closely with vessels, senior management, internal departments, suppliers, class, flag and external stakeholders to ensure vessels are maintained and operated to the highest standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day technical performance of assigned LNG carriers
- Planning and overseeing maintenance, repairs, inspections and dry dockings
- Monitoring vessel performance, budgets and technical expenditure
- Ensuring compliance with class, flag, statutory and company requirements
- Supporting vessels with technical troubleshooting and operational guidance
- Working closely with Masters, Chief Engineers and onboard teams
- Managing suppliers, contractors and service providers
- Supporting continuous improvement across safety, reliability and operational performance
The ideal candidate
To be considered, you should have:
- Previous experience working with LNG carriers or other gas carriers
- 2-3 years' shore-based experience as a Technical Superintendent or Vessel Manager
- A sailing background as Chief Engineer would be highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of planned maintenance, dry dockings, budgets, class requirements and technical operations
- Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with vessel and shore-based teams
- A proactive, structured and hands-on approach to vessel management
- This role would suit someone who enjoys technical responsibility, close vessel interaction and working in a high-quality LNG environment.
