In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the management of a new build ROPAX vessel as well as future new builds that join the fleet. You will ensure vessel dry-docking, major repairs, conversions and refurbishments are carried out in due time, and act as the link between vessels, class and flag. You will review audit reports, inspect the vessels and ensure the technical management of the fleet is performed to standard, amongst various other duties.
The ideal candidate will have: -
- Sea going experience as a 2nd / Chief Engineer ideally on ROPAX; other vessel experience will be considered
- Shore based experience in a similar role - experienced engineers straight from sea will also be considered
- Understanding of Azipods and Konsbery Systems
- Proven technical knowledge gained within the wider maritime industry EG a background in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or a master’s degree in technical shipping or equivalent
- Strong leadership potential
- A high motivation for continuously driving improvements, by constantly maintaining focus on setting and achieving targets
