Role Overview The Technical Superintendent (TSI) is responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost‑effective technical management of assigned container vessels. The role ensures vessels are maintained in accordance with regulatory, class, and commercial requirements, while supporting optimal fleet performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Full technical responsibility for the condition, maintenance, and performance of assigned container ships
- Plan, coordinate, and carry out vessel inspections, surveys, audits, and repairs
- Liaise with Classification Societies, Flag States, shipyards, and service suppliers regarding surveys, repairs, and technical claims
- Prepare, organize, and execute dry‑docking projects for container vessels, including planning, budgeting, supervision, and close‑out
- Prepare, manage, and control technical budgets for assigned vessels
- Ensure correct, timely, and cost‑effective purchasing of spare parts, stores, and technical services
- Provide technical support and guidance to shipboard management and engineering teams
- Ensure compliance with statutory, class, and company technical standards
- Maintain accurate reporting and documentation within relevant maintenance and management systems
- Seagoing experience up to Second Engineer level and/or proven experience in a similar shore‑based technical role
- Proven experience with container vessels (essential)
- Strong technical knowledge of marine engineering systems
- Excellent professional communication and reporting skills
- Solid knowledge of MS Office applications
- Experience with modern Planned Maintenance Systems, such as AMOS or ShipNet
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- A proactive, hands‑on approach with strong problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work effectively within a small, international team
