Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of assigned vessels
- Monitor vessel performance, maintenance and technical condition
- Manage repairs, dry-dockings, surveys and technical projects
- Control vessel budgets, purchasing and operating expenditure
- Ensure compliance with class, statutory and company requirements
- Support Masters and Chief Engineers on technical and operational matters
- Prepare technical and financial reports for owners and management
- Liaise with Chinese-speaking stakeholders, vessel teams, shipyards and service providers
- Promote strong safety, environmental and energy-efficiency standards onboard
- Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency or relevant marine engineering degree
- Previous Chief Engineer & Technical Superintendent experience
- Strong container vessel experience
- Good knowledge of dry-docking, maintenance, budgeting and maritime regulations
- Fluency in both Mandarin Chinese and English is essential
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- Willingness to travel when required
