In this role, you will be responsible for the technical management of assigned tanker vessels, ensuring they are operated safely, efficiently and in line with company, class and regulatory requirements. You will oversee maintenance planning, repairs, dry dockings, budgets and technical performance, while supporting Masters and Chief Engineers across the fleet.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day technical performance of assigned tanker vessels
- Monitoring maintenance, repair and dry-docking activities
- Preparing and controlling technical budgets and expenditure
- Supporting vessel crews on technical issues and operational efficiency
- Ensuring compliance with class, flag state and statutory requirements
- Attending vessel inspections, audits and dockings where required
- Working closely with internal departments and external suppliers to maintain high operational standards
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent managing tanker vessels ashore
- A seagoing background, ideally as a Chief Engineer
- Strong knowledge of tanker operations, maintenance and technical compliance
- Experience managing budgets, planned maintenance and repair projects
- The ability to work effectively with both shipboard and shore-based stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach
