We are working with an established offshore maritime company seeking an experienced Technical Manager to oversee technical operations across their African fleet. This role requires proven shore-based experience managing offshore vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the technical department and vessel performance
- Oversee a team of Technical Superintendents
- Ensure effective planned maintenance and asset management across the fleet
- Manage dry dockings, major repairs, and fleet-wide technical projects
- Ensure full compliance with Class, Flag State, and international regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL)
- Control and optimise technical budgets, procurement, and cost efficiency
- Act as a key stakeholder between operations, commercial teams, and senior leadership
- Previous experience as a Technical Manager or Senior Technical Superintendent
- Strong shore-based background managing offshore vessels (AHTS, PSV, subsea, etc.)
- Ideally sailed as a Chief Engineer earlier in career
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong commercial awareness alongside technical expertise
