Job Description

The Role

To join a small team and contribute to new business development and marketing activities mainly in the energy transition sector such as but not limited to Liquid Carbon Dioxide and Hydrogen transportation, wind turbine support, floating offshore wind farm. Reporting to Head of Technical Development, it is expected to develop relationships with existing and potential clients. To review of tender documentations, develop technical specifications, identify design parameters and develop technical proposals. To support internal approval procedures and process. To deliver and execute Projects.
The role will also cover LNG shipping but will also extend energy transition subject, GHG reduction to include CO2 capture technology, Ammonia and technologies to produce Hydrogen.
  
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
  
Duties and key result areas:  
  
To Develop of Technical specifications; to identify design parameters; to review of design, and undertake plan approval activities of;

* Liquefied gas carriers (LNG and CO2)
* Offshore support vessels (SOV)
* Offshore floating Units including regasification, liquefaction of natural gas, hydrogen, CO2 or other liquefied gases or LOHCs,
* Floating Power Generation Units including wind turbine and marine energy generators,  
* Project management of small to mid-size technical projects. Pre FID during business development phase through to FID and Post FID execution phase.
* To Administer Project Budgets
* To support Internal Approval process and liaise with Technical and Commercial Teams 
  
* To Investigate UK and European port infrastructures and shipyard for offshore wind development, hydrogen and CO2 transportation,
* To provide Technical advice to support investment in projects covering energy transition technology startups and application of energy saving devices (wind propulsion).
* To provide review of investment project / start-up venture investment or potentially Mergers and acquisitions in energy transition technology from technical aspects. To include technical due diligence activity which may also engage third party, as well as manage third party for those activities.
*To assess technical feasibility of the potential project or specific function in a project in front end engineering stage
  
  
Person Specification/ Qualifications / Experience required

* Knowledge of offshore mooring system, or offshore cable system, or dynamic positioning system,
* General knowledge of electric engineering and mechanical engineering.
* Offshore experience
* Vessel conversion experience
* Experience undertaking Technical & Commercial Tenders
* Business development experience
* Naval architecture Degree or equivalent
* Use of MS Office suite of software applications Knowledge of IMO and classification rules,
* Deep knowledge of IMO IGC code, IGF code,
* Knowledge of gas handling system, liquefied gas cargo containment system, safety system and fuel supply system,
* Knowledge of ship structure, hydrodynamics, stability, and general knowledge of meteocean conditions,
* General knowledge of general chemical science, environmental science
* Experience of plan approval and shipyard site supervision,
* Experience of leading and managing a small to mid size team for technical project such as new build ship or conversion,
* Previous overseas work experience
* Over 10 year experience in the Marine, Oil and
Gas or LNG industries
* Strong experience within ship design, construction site supervision,
* Preferably experience of involvement of technical management of operating ship such as superintendent, vetting, surveys or supervision, or surveys of repair dockings.
* Experience with dealing with Shipyard, Class, Flag, charterers and owners on technical and commercial issues.
