Job Description

Faststream Recruitment is working with a growing shipping business in Greece that is looking to strengthen its tanker operations team with two new hires:

Junior Tanker Operator - 2+ years' experience
Senior Tanker Operator - 5+ years' experience

These roles will suit ambitious tanker operations professionals who want to join a modern, fast-moving shipping company with genuine opportunity to develop, travel internationally, and build a strong network across the global tanker market.

The company operates in a dynamic commercial environment, with exposure across both time charter and spot market desks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the market, working with chartering teams, vessels, brokers, agents, terminals, and clients to ensure smooth and efficient voyage execution.

The role:

You will be involved in the day-to-day operation of tanker vessels, supporting voyage planning, performance monitoring, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and the successful execution of fixtures from start to finish.
Responsibilities will include:
  • Managing tanker voyage operations across time charter and/or spot market activity
  • Liaising with vessels, charterers, brokers, agents, terminals, and internal teams
  • Monitoring vessel performance, bunkers, port calls, delays, and voyage progress
  • Handling operational documentation and ensuring accurate system updates
  • Supporting claims, demurrage, and post-fixture processes where required
  • Using IMOS as part of daily operational workflow
  • Travelling internationally where needed to build relationships and support business growth
The ideal candidate:

We are looking to speak with tanker operations professionals who have:
  • 2+ years' experience for the junior vacancy
  • 5+ years' experience for the senior vacancy
  • Previous tanker operations experience, ideally across time charter or spot market desks
  • Experience working with IMOS
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive, commercially aware, and detail-focused approach
  • An ex-seafarer background would be highly advantageous
  • The existing right to live and work in Greece is also essential for this role.
This opportunity would suit someone hungry, driven, and keen to be part of a growing business rather than simply stepping into a static desk. You will be joining a modern shipping company where you can develop your market exposure, take ownership, and play a visible role in the continued growth of the business.
