Faststream is currently searching for a tanker vessel operator/voyage manager to join a leading owner and operator in the tanker industry in their office in Houston, Texas.

As a ship operator you will be responsible for day-to-day voyage operations of company’s tankers, with your areas of responsibility including:

- Liaison with the chartering department (assisting them in collating the information required by customers during the pre-fixture negotiations);

- Execution of Voyage (coordinating with other departments on efficient execution of voyages on a 24/7 basis);

- Bunkering and vessel optimization (to ascertain that the vessel optimizes cargo intakes, and to ensure vessel and sufficiently bunkered);

- Internal and external liaison (negotiating and appointing port agents, record keeping and data management, post fixture inputs to claims coordinators, review and approval of port disbursement accounts);

Preferred candidate should be able to work independently, while being comfortable with collaborating and communicating across all levels of the organization, with around 2 years of experience in commercial operations at minimum (or seagoing experience in management positions). Vessel operations commands a 24/7 coverage, and you should be willing to work extended hours should the situation demand.
