Faststream are working with a well-known Energy client that are looking to add a Principal Structural Engineer to their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to work alongside a leading Oil & Gas company.  This role would be a contract for 12 months. There will be a variety of projects for onshore and offshore work scopes. Please contact me for various level requirements but below is stating for a Senior Structural Engineer.

The Role - 
You will be in the Structural Engineer team that provides numerous concepts, FEED, and varied design services for their offshore and onshore facilities. You will have an understanding of sustainability solutions and HSE to meet the clients demands/expectations. For onshore work scopes you will be looking at refineries, terminals and plants. As for offshore, you will be looking at Subsea works, topsides, fixed structures and floating platforms.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project
  • Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review
  • Maintain the required technical quality of work
  • Maintain good communication with the client and visit sites when necessary
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process
  • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations
  • Ensure as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
Experience Required:
  • Experienced engineer with sound technical background and expertise
  • Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject
  • Able to estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work
  • Competent in use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs
  • Able to work with other disciplines and draughting sections to meet delivery dates
  • Must have the right to work in the UK
