The Role As Senior Manager, Maritime Infrastructure & Facilities, you will be responsible for the strategic and day-to-day management of the organisation's maritime infrastructure estate, ensuring assets are safe, compliant, maintained to a high standard and capable of supporting operational growth.
The role is highly varied, combining maritime expertise, facilities management, stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance and project delivery.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Maritime Infrastructure function and acting as the designated person for emergency procedure planning
- Managing the maintenance, development and lifecycle planning of piers, ramps, waterfront infrastructure, offices and employee facilities.
- Delivering infrastructure improvement projects, upgrades and new-build initiatives.
- Managing landlord, tenant and contractor relationships across the estate.
- Ensuring compliance with maritime, environmental and statutory requirements.
- Leading procurement activities, contract negotiations and supplier performance management.
- Managing departmental budgets and developing business cases for future investment.
- Supporting cruise and yacht operations through effective marine logistics planning.
- Driving environmental and sustainability initiatives, including ISO 14001 objectives.
- Developing, coaching and leading a high-performing team whilst promoting a strong safety culture.
We are keen to speak with candidates who combine strong maritime knowledge with leadership and operational management experience.
You will ideally have:
- Extensive maritime industry experience, gained at sea or in a shore-based marine management role.
- Experience as a Master, Chief Officer, Marine Superintendent, Harbour Master or in a similar senior maritime position.
- Strong understanding of marine infrastructure, port, harbour or waterfront operations.
- Experience managing maintenance programmes, infrastructure assets and capital projects.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with regulators, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budget, procurement and contract management responsibility.
- A strategic mindset coupled with the ability to deliver operational results.
- Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
