The role
As Tanker Operator, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational management of chemical tanker voyages.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing voyage execution from fixture through to completion
- Coordinating port calls, agency matters and vessel schedules
- Liaising with Masters, agents, chartering teams and internal departments on operational matters
- Supporting bunker planning, voyage optimisation and performance monitoring
- Monitoring operational issues and helping resolve challenges during the voyage
- Working closely with safety, technical and commercial teams to ensure smooth vessel operations
- Maintaining accurate operational records and supporting post-voyage follow-up
The person
To be considered for this opportunity, you should have:
- Previous experience in shipping operations, ideally with tankers
- Chemical tanker experience would be highly advantageous
- A background as a shipping clerk, shipping professional or similar maritime qualification
- Strong English language skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- IMOS experience would be an advantage
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A proactive approach and the ability to manage multiple operational priorities
