An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join an innovative engineering organisation working on highly advanced offshore and floating infrastructure projects. The Role
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the development of electrical power, control, and communication systems for complex marine-based platforms. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, you will play a key role in system integration, concept development, technical analysis, and stakeholder coordination across a variety of cutting-edge projects.
This will be an office based role in London.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of electrical power generation and distribution systems.
- Support data, communications, and control system architecture development.
- Carry out engineering calculations including load analysis, power allocation, and system feasibility studies.
- Produce technical documentation including specifications, reports, calculations, and scopes of work.
- Coordinate with designers, regulators, classification societies, and technology partners to ensure design compliance and project alignment.
- Support multidisciplinary integration activities across electrical, marine, and nuclear engineering functions.
- Contribute to technical innovation, concept development, and engineering problem solving.
- Assist with simulation activities, system verification, and design reviews.
- Master’s degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 5+ years of experience within the marine, offshore, energy, or nuclear sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems and industrial data/communication networks.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary engineering projects within regulated industries.
- Ability to produce and review technical calculations, engineering documentation, and design artefacts.
- Familiarity with CAD tools such as SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- PhD in an engineering or STEM-related field.
- Experience with balance of plant systems or complex infrastructure integration.
- Knowledge of risk management and technology qualification processes.
- Experience supporting technical procurement activities and supplier specifications.
- Project coordination or project management exposure.
