Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their team. As a recruitment agency, we are proud to partner with our client to find the ideal candidate for this key role within the business. The role involves reporting directly to the General Manager and deputizing for them as required. The successful candidate will have excellent communication, decision-making and influencing skills, as well as the ability to work in a busy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote the aims and objectives of the company
  • Lead the team ensuring best practice, including staff induction, supervision, and appraisal.
  • Attend relevant training/conferences/meetings to support professional development
  • Manage the recruitment process
  • Assist the General Manager in setting, implementing, and reviewing policies
  • Deputise for the General Manager as required
  • Ensure compliance with internal requirements and maintain contact with clients and colleges
  • Organize training programs for staff
  • Establish and grow relationships with internal staff
  • Review and influence changes to support and structure
  • Oversee completion of client requirements
  • Participate in client engagement activities
  • Manage emergency out of hours rota
Candidate Requirements:
  • HNC/D in a related field or equivalent
  • Experience within the maritime industry
  • Demonstrated management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional and outgoing approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Team player
  • IT literate with knowledge of MS Office
  • Confident and self-motivated
  • Excellent time management abilities
