They are open to the successful candidate working from either their Aberdeen, Glasgow or London office.
The Role:
Ensure technical and service delivery quality and profitability of all work performed by the team. Supervise, manage and participate in a wide variety of office-based consultancy projects, involving project management, advisory, assurance and design.
Duties and Responsibilities (in conjunction with UK Engineering Lead and Business Stream Leadership) include:
- Take responsibility for the delivery of a high quality service that meets the needs of clients and is compliant with the HSEQ requirements of the business management system
- Identify and develop potential business streams for the Engineering Department Work scope proposals, work scope cost and deadline estimation
- Resourcing and coordination of workload amongst engineering staff (including liaison with other offices worldwide to make the most effective use of available resource)
- Forecast future workload, lead the preparation of tenders in response to enquiries.
- Provide technical leadership with interpretation of standards and in defining effective paths to solve technical problems
Personnel Management:
- Assist with the appraisal of staff performance
- Identification of specific training requirements
- Structure workload to meet individuals development goals
- Day to day staffing, including all performance related issues
- Staff / Personal time management
- Addressing client needs and management of their eexpectations
- Identify work scope / cost variations
- Maintain current client relationships
- Develop new client relationships
- Preparation for External Audits
- Assurance of high quality standard for deliverables
- Follow the group Business Management System
Specific Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
- A degree qualification in Naval Architecture, or equivalent
- Chartered membership of RINA or IMarEST is desirable
- Experience of technical software eg. SESAM (GeniE, HydroD, Wamit), Orcaflex, Moses, GHS, MathCAD and AutoCAD
- Experience in mooring assessments, motion response analysis, stability, riser analysis and vessel weight management including incline and deadweight surveys
- Experience in operability studies is desirable, including availability analysis, SIMOPS and weather downtime simulations
- Lead project teams effectively, be able to work independently as well as in a team and promote team working across disciplines
- Recognise individuals skills and utilise them to achieve a better group outcome
