The Role As a Marine Surveyor, you will carry out inspections and surveys on a variety of vessel types to ensure compliance with classification rules and statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting marine surveys and inspections on a range of vessel types.
- Assessing vessels for compliance with classification society rules and statutory regulations.
- Producing accurate technical reports following inspections.
- Travelling regularly to ports across the Ipswich and Colchester region.
- Undertaking occasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland.
- Building strong relationships with shipowners, operators and other industry stakeholders.
- Marine Engineers looking to move ashore.
- Deck Officers seeking a shore-based career.
- Marine professionals already working in technical or surveying positions.
- Existing IACS Class Surveyors or Flag Surveyors with relevant transferable experience.
- Chief Engineer or Second Engineer Certificate of Competency (STCW III/2).
- Engineering Officer of the Watch (STCW III/1) with a degree in a relevant marine discipline.
- Deck Officer Certificate of Competency (STCW II/2).
- Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering with relevant industry experience.
