You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day marine operations of 8–9 gas carrier vessels, with a strong focus on LPG / ethylene operations, navigation, cargo safety, vetting readiness, inspections, security, audits and fleetwide marine standards. This is a hands-on role with real influence across vessel performance, compliance and operational excellence.
What you’ll be doing?
- Managing daily marine operations across assigned vessels, including navigation, mooring, deck equipment, safety equipment and port arrival/departure activities.
- Overseeing safe cargo operations, including loading/discharging, grade changes and tank preparation.
- Supporting dry dock planning with the technical team, including marine and security requirements.
- Preparing vessels for SIRE, CDI, PSC, USCG, terminal, flag and external audits/inspections.
- Reviewing safety reports, risk assessments, near misses, drill reports and incident investigations.
- Monitoring security, voyage planning, weather routing, navigation standards and fleetwide compliance.
- Supporting crew training, audits, vessel documentation, OCIMF data, HVPQ, Q88 and Form C updates.
- Class 1 CoC / Master Mariner.
- Strong LPG / Ethylene experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of shipboard operations.
- Safety- and environmentally-minded with good judgement and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, leadership, teamwork and cross-functional coordination skills.
