Are you a marine insurance professional with extensive claims management experience looking to join a global maritime organization? We are representing a leading international shipping company seeking a Marine Insurance & Claims Manager to oversee a broad range of marine insurance matters across its fleet operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced insurance specialist to work closely with operational, technical, commercial, and finance teams while managing complex claims, supporting risk management initiatives, and contributing to the ongoing development of insurance practices across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee marine insurance claims across multiple classes of cover
  • Partner with vessel operations, technical, and commercial teams to assess incidents, manage claim exposures, and support recovery efforts
  • Coordinate with insurers, brokers, P&I Clubs, surveyors, and legal advisors to ensure the effective handling and resolution of claims
  • Review contracts and insurance-related documentation, providing guidance on risk exposures and insurance matters
  • Support insurance renewal activities through claims analysis, underwriting data preparation, and risk assessments
  • Prepare management reports and claims analyses, providing insights into trends, exposures, and recovery opportunities
  • Contribute to the enhancement of insurance processes, risk management practices, and operational efficiencies across the business
  
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in marine insurance, claims management, maritime legal services, or a related field
  • Strong practical experience handling marine claims
  • Experience gained within shipping companies, P&I Clubs, marine insurers, insurance brokers, maritime law firms, or marine consultancy environments will be highly regarded
  • Good understanding of marine insurance principles, contractual liabilities, and claims recovery processes
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to assess complex cases and recommend practical solutions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging both internal and external parties
  • Qualifications in Maritime Studies, Maritime Law, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related discipline will be advantageous
