Industry: Marine Engineering / Field Service
Faststream Recruitment is working with an established marine engineering services business to recruit experienced Marine Diesel Engineers for its Perth operation.
This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with strong OEM or OEM-authorised service experience who are confident carrying out troubleshooting, overhaul, repair and commissioning work on medium-speed marine diesel engines.
The Role
You will provide hands-on technical support to marine customers across Western Australia, attending vessels and customer sites to diagnose faults, complete maintenance and overhaul work, and support commissioning activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Troubleshooting and fault-finding on marine diesel engines and associated equipment
- Carrying out planned and corrective maintenance, repairs and major overhauls
- Engine inspections, strip-downs, rebuilds and commissioning
- Attending vessels and customer sites for field service assignments
- Providing technical recommendations following inspections and repairs
- Producing clear service reports and communicating findings to customers
- Supporting workshop and field-based engineering activities as required
We are particularly interested in engineers with OEM training or strong OEM field service experience on medium-speed engines, including:
Wärtsilä | MAN | Bergen | MAK | Niigata | Daihatsu | Caterpillar
You will ideally have:
- Strong hands-on experience servicing and overhauling medium-speed marine diesel engines
- Previous experience working for an engine OEM, authorised service provider or specialist marine engineering company
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic capability
- Experience working independently on vessel-based field service assignments
- Strong customer-facing and technical communication skills
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to travel for vessel attendance
