Key Responsibilities:
- Provide marine assurance expertise to support the safe and efficient operation of shipping activities across a global portfolio
- Review vessel suitability and operational risks associated with marine transportation activities
- Support assurance processes relating to vessel quality, safety performance, regulatory compliance, and operational standards
- Conduct assessments and reviews of vessels, operators, and marine service providers to ensure alignment with internal and industry requirements
- Investigate marine incidents, near misses, and operational issues, identifying lessons learned and opportunities for improvement
- Partner closely with commercial, operations, technical, and HSE teams to support business objectives and risk management initiatives
- Monitor developments in maritime regulations and industry practices, providing guidance on potential operational impacts
- Participate in audits, inspections, assurance reviews, and industry engagement activities as required
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of marine assurance, safety, and operational excellence programs across the organization
- Provide technical advice and mentorship to internal stakeholders on marine operational matters
Requirements:
- At least 4 years of seagoing experience, ideally as Chief Officer, Second Engineer, Master, or Chief Engineer on LPG carriers, LNG carriers, gas carriers, oil tankers, or chemical tankers
- Shore-based experience within Marine Assurance, Marine Operations, Vetting, Technical Management, QHSE, or a related function
- Candidates currently working for, or with previous experience in, Oil Majors, LPG/LNG operators, energy companies, or established shipowners will be highly regarded
- Willingness to travel internationally for vessel inspections, audits, site visits, and stakeholder engagements as required
- Strong understanding of international maritime regulations, industry best practices, and marine risk management principles
- Experience conducting operational assessments, audits, inspections, investigations, or assurance reviews within a shipping environment
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and report-writing skills
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic international environment and engage with stakeholders across multiple regions
- LPG and/or LNG shipping experience will be advantageous
