Job Description

We are partnering with an established global ship management company to appoint a Head of Marine & HSEQ to be based in Kuala Lumpur. This is a senior leadership role overseeing marine assurance, HSEQ compliance, and operational excellence across a fleet of tanker and gas vessels.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee all HSEQ and marine assurance activities across the fleet
  • Ensure full compliance with ISM, ISO, Flag State and industry standards
  • Manage vetting processes (OCIMF / Oil Majors) and maintain approvals
  • Drive incident investigations, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Act as a key point of contact with authorities, clients and external stakeholders
  • Support emergency response readiness and crisis management
  • Oversee TMSA compliance, audits and internal reviews
  • Provide guidance on operational best practices for tanker and gas operations
Requirements:
  • Master Mariner / Chief Engineer or relevant maritime qualification
  • Strong shore-based experience in marine, HSEQ or vetting roles
  • Proven managerial experience, with the ability to lead teams and drive performance
  • Proven exposure to tankers and/or LNG/LPG vessels
  • Solid knowledge of ISM, ISO, TMSA and OCIMF standards
  • Experience in incident investigation and auditing (ISM/ISO/DPA preferred)
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability
