This is a hands-on operational leadership role overseeing the readiness, deployment and day-to-day performance of a sizeable fleet of harbour craft supporting critical port and marine services. The role will involve managing operational teams and vessel crew, ensuring safe and efficient fleet deployment, and working closely with internal stakeholders, unions, regulators and industry partners.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring fleet operational readiness, manpower planning, safety compliance, process improvement and business continuity across a fast-moving port environment. Responsible for harbour craft readiness, resource optimisation, safety standards, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement across fleet operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage fleet operations across harbour craft / pilot launch / port services operations
- Oversee vessel readiness, crew deployment, manpower planning and day-to-day operational effectiveness
- Manage a large pool of marine crew across diverse backgrounds and experience levels
- Work closely with safety teams to drive safe work practices, compliance and operational discipline
- Improve operational processes, resource allocation and business continuity planning
- Engage with internal departments, unions, government agencies, regulators and industry stakeholders
- Support current and future operational requirements in a dynamic port environment

- 8–10 years’ experience in harbour craft operations, port operations, fleet operations, tug operations, pilot launch operations or related marine services
- Prior leadership experience managing marine crew, operational teams or vessel deployment
- Strong understanding of local port / harbour operations and regulatory requirements
- Good stakeholder management skills, especially with crew, unions, regulators and internal operations teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced marine operations environment
- Degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, Maritime or related discipline preferred, though strong operational experience will be considered.
