You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of engineering, electrical and hull systems and equipment across pilot boats, gig boats, oil spill response vessels and survey boats.
The position forms part of an established maintenance team and includes participation in an on-call rota, providing out-of-hours engineering support when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a varied fleet of small commercial vessels.
- Maintain and repair engineering, electrical and hull systems and equipment.
- Undertake Duty Engineer responsibilities and provide out-of-hours cover on a rota basis.
- Complete tasks in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule.
- Maintain engineering checklists and maintenance records.
- Assist with maintaining an appropriate inventory of mechanical and electrical spares.
- Support the Technical Manager in ensuring vessels remain safe, operational and compliant.
- Promote safe working practices and compliance with company procedures and relevant regulations.
- Previous experience as a Marine/ Mechanical Engineer or equivalent
- Strong hands-on mechanical and engineering maintenance experience.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
- Flexibility to participate in an on-call rota, with availability required approximately every third week.
- The ability to commute to the marine base in Liverpool within approximately one hour.
