LPSQ Superintendent – Ferry & Yacht
Hamburg

I am currently supporting a well-established international maritime business in their search for an experienced LPSQ Superintendent to join their Ferry & Yacht division in Hamburg.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a maritime professional with strong operational and compliance experience to take ownership of safety, quality, and environmental performance across a specialised fleet. You’ll act as the key point of contact between vessel and shore-based operations, ensuring best practice is embedded across all areas of compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement.
The Role You will be responsible for overseeing and strengthening the company’s safety and compliance framework across assigned vessels, ensuring operations remain fully aligned with international maritime regulations and internal standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Reviewing regulatory updates and translating these into practical operational procedures
  • Driving continuous development of safety management systems and operational processes
  • Carrying out vessel inspections, audits, investigations, and follow-up actions where required
  • Analysing operational risks and implementing proactive improvement measures
  • Working closely with Flag States, Class, and external auditors during inspections and assessments
  • Producing clear reports and recommendations for senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Supporting and mentoring onboard teams to strengthen compliance culture and performance standards
  • Acting as the designated DPA contact for the assigned fleet
  • Playing an active role in emergency response preparedness and incident management
  • Supporting operational planning and departmental budget activities
About you:
  • A Marine / Naval Engineering degree or an unlimited Master / Senior Officer CoC
  • Previous seagoing experience at senior officer or command level, or significant shoreside LPSQ leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of ISM, ISPS, environmental compliance, and wider maritime legislation
  • Proven experience within RoPax ferry and yacht operations
  • DPA certification
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across ship and shore teams
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with strong leadership capability
