The Role
You will work as part of an international Loss Prevention team, combining your maritime expertise with data, claims insights and client engagement to identify emerging risks and develop practical solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Loss Prevention Strategy: Support the implementation of regional safety and loss prevention initiatives, working directly with clients to improve safety performance and reduce claims exposure.
- Risk & Trend Analysis: Analyse claims data, incidents and industry developments to identify emerging risks, trends and opportunities for preventative action.
- Client Advisory: Provide practical technical guidance to shipowners and ship managers and develop trusted relationships with key industry stakeholders.
- Risk Assessments & Surveys: Review condition and risk survey reports to support underwriting and risk decisions, with opportunities to conduct vessel visits and surveys.
- Industry Content: Develop and deliver high-quality technical content, including articles, presentations, seminars and workshops based on industry developments, claims experience and emerging risks.
- Technical Support: Provide specialist technical input to underwriting and claims teams to support informed decision-making.
- Knowledge Sharing: Collaborate with colleagues globally, sharing technical knowledge, best practices and lessons learned across the organisation.
- Mentoring: Act as a technical resource and mentor to colleagues, contributing to the development of internal expertise.
You should have:
- Relevant maritime industry experience, ideally with a marine engineering or equivalent technical background. Strong understanding of vessel operations, marine risk and safety management.
- Experience with gas carriers and/or dual-fuel vessels would be highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical and data-literacy skills, with the ability to identify trends and translate complex information into practical risk solutions.
- A proactive, service-oriented approach and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within an international team.
